very long and thin, dull gray-brown color

not too rough, dull gray-brown color

Natural History:

Lifespan—

80–180 years

General description—

It is a big fast growing tree that can grow in a variety of soils. They are usually found in more humid areas. It can tolerate drought, not shade. This tree is sensitive to oak wilt.

Natural distribution and habitat—

Native to North America. (Usually found in the east.)

Conservation status—

No serious threats since this tree is competitive due to its fast growth.

Uses—

This is a popular shade tree.
