Parents as At-Home Teachers: Working with Students with LD and ADHD in Online Learning

Location: Online

With schools moving to online learning, many parents have found themselves taking on the role of substitute teacher at home. It has been rewarding for some, but stressful and overwhelming for many. Taught by an LD/ADHD veteran of 35 years, this event will provide you with tips and strategies on understanding the online platform, helping your student with online homework while keeping calm, working with teachers, and understanding your student’s legal rights in online learning.

This online workshop opens on October 5, 2020 -- register now and complete the workshop at your own pace, through November 15. for asynchronous (go at your own pace) learning. In addition to the learning activities and content hosted on the Canvas site, there will also be a live video (“synchronous”) session on October 16 from 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time). The live session will combine a short presentation with a Question and Answer component. It will be recorded and viewable in the Canvas site, for those not able to attend live, and/or for reviewing after the event. This training contains approximately 10 hours of information and registrants can go at their own pace through the learning content.
