"Champions of Change" gala raises $350,000 for College programs

Landmark College raised more than $350,000 at the April 24, 2018 spring gala in New York City. The event, Champions of Change: Building a Neurodiverse Workforce, also secured a $300,000 pledge for the College’s online learning initiative.

Late night host and honored guest Seth Meyers delighted the audience with his humor and understanding of neurodiversity, while LD Luminary Award recipient John Elder Robison (both pictured right) delivered an impassioned and inspiring charge to the 150 guests in attendance.

The money raised will support a number of priorities, including study abroad, career readiness, student research opportunities, and scholarship support. The live auction portion of the evening was preceded by a video with students and recent graduate discussing the impact these initiative had on their lives.

“Our Champions of Change gala was an enormous success on many levels,” said Dr. Peter Eden, President of Landmark College. “The wonderful outcome came not only from the hard work of all those involved in the creation and execution of the event, but also in the unified commitment we all demonstrate for this important College and for the many neurodivergent students needing our support.”

The $300,000 pledge to support the continuing development of Landmark College's online learning initiative, was made by Chuck (pictured right) and Nan Strauch. The Strauch Family has provided lead gifts in the past, including for the construction of the Student Center that bears their name and the Charles Drake Athletic Field.
