Identification:

Leaves—elliptic with fine-toothed margins, bright green on top and lighter green underneath

Twigs—reddish-brown shoots

Flowers—white flower blooms in early spring

Fruit—rounded fruit with red to purple skin; amber yellow flesh is aromatic and juicy

Bark—dark gray, fissured
