Certificate Program Graduate Organizes First-Ever Neurodiversity Conference in Indonesia

Spring 2021 graduate of the Landmark College post-baccalaureate certificate program in Learning Differences and Neurodiversity (LDN), Dina Djunaedi, is a parent advocate for neurodiversity. Living in Indonesia, Dina, a graphic designer, became interested in neurodiversity when she recognized the limited services offered in her home country for students who learn differently. Dina, determined to learn more about neurodiversity and learning differences, enrolled in Landmark College’s certificate program and has not looked back!

After completing her capstone project in January 2021, Dina set off to take steps to inspire change in Indonesia. She developed a strong social media presence in Indonesia and the United States and then devised an even bigger plan to celebrate neurodiversity…Neuminds: The 1st Indonesia Neurodiversity Conference 2021!

Drawing on her experience in the Landmark College certificate program and with support from her new colleagues in the United States, Dina and her colleague Venessa Tirta have developed an online conference focusing on neurodiversity that is set to change the way Indonesian’s think about learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and cerebral palsy. With Director of the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training (LCIRT) and Co-Director of the Landmark College Center for Neurodiversity, Dr. Adam Lalor, scheduled to deliver the keynote address titled “Including Neurodiversity in the Fabric of Diversity: A World-Wide Imperative,” the conference is certain to be a success. Additional sessions will focus on literacy support, universal design, parenting, and neurodivergent stories. Presenters include Linda Hecker, Landmark College Professor Emeritus; Sara Fabricant LDN ’21; Kathy Cross LDN ’21, and current Landmark College student Cayman Cross.
