Explore practical, research-based professional development from LCIRT, designed for educators and support personnel working with neurodivergent learners.
For over 30 years, the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training (LCIRT) has provided cutting-edge, relevant, and practical professional development to individuals and schools. Informed by current research and decades of classroom experience, LCIRT is a leader in the fields of learning disabilities (such as dyslexia), ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges.
LCIRT’s professional development offerings are research-based, classroom-tested, highly practical, and universally designed. LCIRT serves a wide range of professionals, including educators and disability support personnel at the secondary and postsecondary levels across the United States, Canada, and beyond.
There are a number of ways for individuals and schools to obtain professional development, including:
- Webinars on the latest topics and trends in LD education.
- An online professional certificate in Learning Differences and Neurodiversity (LDN), with specializations in executive function (EF), autism support on campus and online, and postsecondary disability services.
- Workshops (on-campus and online, consulting, keynote presentations, and customized professional development professional development (see below for more information).
- The annual Landmark College Summer Institute conference held each year on Landmark College’s beautiful campus in southern Vermont.
Customized Professional Development
Research shows that effective professional development for educators doesn’t happen overnight. While single-day workshops offer value, ongoing training over weeks or months can transform individual teaching practices and drive positive, school-wide change.
LCIRT’s professional development is part of a dynamic cycle that connects research, Landmark College classroom practice, and new initiatives. Research conducted by LCIRT informs training programs, while classroom practices inspire new research and offerings.
The approach with each school is collaborative and tailored to its unique culture, following these phases:
- Needs assessment
- Customized delivery of content: relevant theory and practice
- Ongoing support for integration of new information and practice
Consulting Services
LCIRT offers consulting services to schools, colleges, associations, workplaces, and individuals on a broad range of topics. Whether for a single session or ongoing project support, consulting services are flexible and tailored to meet specific needs, all with the shared mission of supporting neurodivergent students.
The team of experts provides consulting in the following areas and more:
