Office Safety Protocols

Vermont has reported some of the nation’s lowest rates of COVID-19 since the pandemic emerged in Spring 2020. With a campus that sprawls across 125 acres in a rural Vermont location, and about 200 staff members supporting approximately 400 on-campus students, we have the outdoor space, facilities, and resources to help students practice physical distancing without sacrificing enriching social activities that are so critical to the college experience.

College administration is reducing population density on campus by allowing remote working where possible. Many services need to be provided on campus, and those who are working in an office on campus must adhere to safety protocols, including:

  1. Practice physical distancing—Everywhere you go outside of your room, remember to stay 6 feet or more away from others. This includes indoors and outdoors.
  2. Wear a face mask—Except when you are in your own office, masks that cover your nose and mouth are required whenever you are indoors. Masks do not need to be worn outside as long as you can maintain a 6-foot distance from others (but carry one on you just in case).
  3. Hand washing/hand sanitization—You should wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially before entering and leaving offices and other spaces. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer.
  4. Use disinfectant wipes or soap and water to clean common surfaces you have been in contact with.
